Category: Solo piano and Piano duo (4 hands piano)
The Antonín Dvořák Society
The competition is designed for students of all levels and nationalities from the primary schools, secondary schools and universities.
Competitors will be awarded gold, silver and bronze certificates.
We welcome participants of all levels and talents since we understand how challenging it is to prepare and deliver a good performance. Also, we thoroughly appreciate the efforts of music teachers who help their students in preparation for the competition. For this reason we will be awarding diplomas for an extraordinary work of the teachers.

Open for musicians /students of music schools up to 30 years
Category 0: up to and including 8 years old
Total duration: 2 - 4 mins
Category 1: up to and including 9 years old
Total duration: 3 - 5mins
Category 2: up to and including 10 years old
Total duration: 4 - 6 mins
Category 3: up to and including 11 years old
Total duration: 5 - 8 mins
Category 4: up to and including 12 years old
Total duration: 6 - 9 mins
Category 5: up to and including 13 years old
Total duration: 7 - 10 mins
Category 6: up to and including 15 years old
Total duration: 9 - 13 mins
Category 7: up to and including 21 years old
Total duration: 10 - 15 mins
Category A - Professionals
For the pianists who have been studying at the music conservatory for less than 3 years.
Total duration: 10 – 13 mins
Category B - Professionals
For the pianists who have been studying at the music conservatory for more than 3 years.
Total duration: 13- 17 mins
Repertoire:
0. Category
Competitors can choose a composition by A. Dvořák or a composition by any other Czech composer, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 2 - 4 minutes.
1st Category
Competitors can choose a composition by A. Dvořák or a composition by any other Czech composer, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 3 - 5 minutes.
2nd Category
Competitors can choose a composition by A. Dvořák, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 4-6 minutes.
3rd Category
Competitors can choose one or more compositions by Antonín Dvořák, in addition to any optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 5-8 minutes.
4th Category
Competitors can choose one or more compositions by Antonín Dvořák, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 6-9 minutes.
5th Category
Competitors can choose one or more compositions by Antonín Dvořák, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 7 - 10 minutes.
6th Category
Competitors can choose one or more compositions by Antonín Dvořák, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 10 - 13 minutes.
7th Category
Competitors can choose one or more compositions by Antonín Dvořák, in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 10 - 15 minutes.
Category A
Competitors will play a compulsory composition by Antonín Dvořák Do památníku K.H. (B 158), in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 10 - 13 minutes.
Category B
Competitors will choose one movement after their choice from the cycle Lístky do památníku (B 109) by Antonín Dvořák, a fast movement of a classical sonata , in addition to any piece/pieces in the total duration between 13 - 17 minutes.
4hands piano
Category 0: up to and including 11 years old
Category 1: up to and including 13 years old
Category 2: up to and including 18 years old
Category 3: up to and including 21 years old
Category AA:
For the pianists who have been studying at the music conservatory for less than 3 years.
Category BB:
For the pianists who have been studying at the music conservatory for more than 3 years.

Category 0:
Competitors can choose a composition for 4 hands by A. Dvořák or any classical piece originally composed for 4 hands in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 3 - 6 minutes
Category 1:
Competitors can choose a composition for 4 hands by A. Dvořák in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 4 - 7 minutes
Category 2:
Competitors can choose a composition for 4 hands by A. Dvořák in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 6 - 12 minutes
Category 3:
Competitors can choose a composition for 4 hands by A. Dvořák in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 9 - 15 minutes
Category AA:
Competitors can choose a composition for 4 hands by A. Dvořák in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 9 - 15 minutes
Category BB:
Competitors can choose a composition for 4 hands by A. Dvořák in addition to an optional piece/pieces in the total duration between 12 - 18 minutes

PARTICIPATION FEE:
Piano Solo: 50 Eur
Piano Duo: 80 Eur
The deadline for submission of applications is 31 October 2023. If the capacity of the competition is filled, the organizer has the right to close the application process earlier.
The deadline to pay the application fee is October 31, 2022.
